She has built an empire off of her first name alone, with a sitcom titled “Ellen” from 1994-1998 and then her well-known chat show “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” from 2003 to 2022. She worked as a stand-up comedian throughout the 1980s, so comedy became a natural part of her presenting style and won her 33 Daytime Emmys.
